1. Taking this step will increase the federal budget by an estimated $1.7 billion over ten years.
2.This move will reduce federal deficits by an estimated $2.2 billion in the next ten years.
3. DREAM-eligible students will generate between $1.4 and $3.6 trillion in taxable income over the course of their working lives.
4. The roughly one million undocumented students can now help fill the US shortfall of 16 million college-educated workers expected in 2025.
5. The decision will help raise wages for American workers too. The American Prospect reported, “Only when undocumented immigrants have the ability to exercise complete workplace rights will they help exert upward pressure on wages and labor standards that will benefit other workers.”
